A thoughtful AAC tool, in collaboration with speech therapists
In partnership with speech therapists, Swirly AAC is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication tool for children with autism, childhood apraxia of speech, language delays, and non-speaking children — designed to be calm, customizable, and easy for little hands.

Communication and early grammar, for every family
Just as importantly, we’re building Swirly AAC to be genuinely useful for typically developing kids too. The same gentle picture-and-voice interactions support every early learner’s communication abilities and early grammar development — especially the wonderful moment when they begin stringing together their first two-word phrases.

How Swirly AAC Works
Simple, Intuitive Communication
At its core, an AAC app provides a voice. A child pushes a button featuring an image, and the device speaks the corresponding word or phrase aloud. For non-speaking children this immediate auditory feedback bridges the gap between thought and expression. For typically developing toddlers, the same buttons reinforce vocabulary and help scaffold the leap from single words into early two- and three-word phrases.
Optional Collaborative Speech Sets
What makes Swirly AAC unique is our approach to customization. Parents, speech therapists, and teachers can opt in to collaboratively build and edit a child’s custom Speech Sets — the picture buttons and words your child uses — and share them with the other grown-ups in the child’s life.
Update a child’s vocabulary at home, and the therapist sees it instantly. Add new words during a therapy session, and they’re ready for the child to use at home.
Sync goes through your own Google Drive (or other cloud storage you choose) — never through Swirly’s servers. Swirly holds no data of any kind: no Speech Sets, no accounts, no usage records.
Prefer to keep everything on-device? Swirly AAC works fully offline too — sync is opt-in.
